What is nutrition?

Our body needs energy to work and this energy gain by a different kind of nutritious food. Nutrition is a building chunk of life. Nutrition is a kind of healthy food that our body requires. It also provides a medium in which the function of the body can carry out. Good health is defined as a state of complete physical, mental, spirit, body, and a healthy mind.

Nutrition is a key to develop and maintain the good health. Take healthy food at the right time and the good combination may provide good nutrients. The good nutrient is a key to avoid obesity, illness and most widespread constant disease. Nutrition is the consumption of food to grow, mend and uphold our body.

Types of Nutrients

Nutrition is a source of nourishment. A food is a combination of protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamin, mineral, fiber and water. There are two types of nutrients:

  1. Macronutrients (we need in comparatively large quantity).
  2. Micronutrients (we need relatively small quantity).

Importance of nutrients

As we know that from the introduction of nutrients it is an important part of our diet and maintenance of our body. Nutrients are very important because it reduces the risk of some disease including heart disease, diabetes, stroke some other type of cancer. It is important to decrease the rate of high blood pressure. It improves your ability to fight against illness. It can enhance your energy level. It can reduce high cholesterol level and improve your well being. Good nutrients are very important for our health because it means your body gain all the nutrients, vitamins and minerals which it requires to work.

Function of Nutrients

Nutrients are the substance obtained from the food performs many biological activities and are important for the human body. There are five major nutrients which perform different functions. These nutrients are proteins, fat, minerals, water, carbohydrates, and vitamins. They perform the following main function in our body:

  • Making all part of bodies such as muscle, bone, teeth, and blood.
  • Keeping the body in good working order.
  • Producing energy.

Protein

Protein is a major structural component of cell and responsible for making and repairing body tissue. Protein breaks down into amino acid which is building a block of protein. Food in which protein is presently known as fat meat, dairy, beans, and eggs.

Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are the main source of energy requires for the brain. Source of carbohydrates are fruits, bread, stiff vegetables, and sugar. Without carbohydrates, the body could not work properly.

Minerals

 Minerals help to maintain fluid volume inside and outside the cells and prevent the excess of blood pressure with increased sodium intake. It helps to maintain and build strong bones and teeth.

Water

Water helps to remove waste material from the body. it also helps to transport materials and nutrients.

Fat

Fat is a nutrient and source of energy that consumed, increase the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins including vitamin A, D, E, K. it helps to development of growth.

Vitamins

Vitamin is an important nutrient which provides structure to the blood vessels, bone. vitamin helps to maintain calcium homeostasis. Source of vitamins are citrus food, strawberries, and pepper.
